Wed 12th Sep 2001: Profiling of the southern bank has been completed here. The sewer pipe awaits diversion.

Thu 15th Nov 2001: Looking west down-stream of lock 7. Profiling of the southern bank has been completed here apart from adjacent to Darkinson Lane sewer which will be reconstructed as an inverted siphon.

Wed 31st Oct 2001: A view, in the same general direction, from a slightly different position from the 'before' photograph to include the site of lock 7 and the newly excavated channel leading upstream to it.
Before: Looking north-east towards the Lea and Ashton golf course with the new footbridge in the middle distance. The line of the navigation turns eastwards beyond the bridge to skirt the northern side of the BNFL sports ground.
Wed 6th Feb 2002: The golf course footbridge from the end of the channel above lock 7. Work is now substantially complete on the section between here and the golf course access bridge. Steel piles, which have been driven to protect the northern bank, can be seen at the bend immediately up-stream of the bridge.
Before: The old worn out footbridge which crossed the Savick Brook at the golf course. This original bridge, owned by Lancashire County Council, was in poor condition and was replaced in 1996 with a new one giving full navigational clearance.
Wed 6th Feb 2002: The 'new' golf course footbridge crossing at a higher level than the old one. Steel piles, which have been driven to protect the northern bank, can be seen at the right of the bridge.
Before: Looking west, from the south bank, down the Savick Brook as it flows past the BNFL sports ground. The golf course is on the right.
Wed 6th Feb 2002: The newly profiled channel - most of the work has been done on the northern bank. In the distance the channel bends to the left towards the golf course footbridge.
Before: The sewage pipe from the golf club to the main relief pipe. This will need to be relaid under the channel using a siphon.
Tue 14th May 2002: The golf club sewer has been relaid under the channel and the old pipe removed. There was insufficient room for the haul-road on the left bank to go further so work down-stream of here was done from the north bank.

Wed 10th Jul 2002: Looking west from the new golf course bridge, the old one having been demolished. The newly surfaced footpath is on the top of the left bank.
Before: The golf course access bridge with brick parapet. The bed of the brook will be lowered by 1.2m here which may expose its foundations, in which case underpinning might be required. It is hoped that the parapet of the bridge can be rebuilt utilising the original stone which is believed to lie in the bed of the brook.
Wed 10th Jul 2002: The new golf course access bridge seen from the east. The old bridge has been demolished and the banks profiled. The moorings below lock 6 can be seen in the foreground.

Before: Looking west over the site of lock 6 towards the golf course access bridge. The lock will be just beyond the dark shadow, in the middle distance, on the left-hand bank. A weir will be located at the start of the by-channel which will follow the present course of the brook.
